Labor Day Long Weekend Camping turned things upside down. Camping can be fun. As long as it doesn't rain, or bear attacks your tent at night, or your freeze you nuggets off, or run out of beer. Two of those happened this weekend and it felt like a third was damn close. Of course we never run out of beer so it isn't like calamity struck. What a summer! We just closed another terrific summer 2011. I understand that I sound a bit less than credible when I say it was better than last summer, but it was!
It' just a test. I used my few test shots. The cam is a Canon HV30 in cine mode. Edited and graded in Final Cut.
Inspired Philip Bloom. He's my favorite filmmaker :)
I hope enjoy.
Random footage shot throughout the year finally put to some use.

Arco is a hypnotic artist.
I love to listen to him: when it rains, at night, when I get lonely... during those moments in life when things are quiet and calm.
His voice is immensely soothing and if you like this song, I strongly encourage you to listen to his others.
You won't be disappointed.
I finally got around to testing out the gain control on the hv30 using the miniSD trick. Images looked so much better without the awful noise that haunted everything I shot. Of course then there was the problem of having enough light so I purchased a cheap 27 dollar work-light. Still so much to learn!
CC in After Effects.
