After several months of researching, interviewing and filming, I'm excited to present the first public Trailer to my new Documentary "State of Electronics" - A discussion on the Electronics Industry in Australia. Even though the documentary is focused on Australian Electronics Design and Manufacture, much of it applies to all countries from around the world.
The discussion is focused initially on the world of Hobby Electronics and how it's decline…

This video is intended to demonstrate, in a rough manner using Final Cut Pro, how images shot on any camera can be Graded.
It isn't always possible when you are shooting quickly, with limited resources and time to "Nail" the exposure bang on every time. Sometimes it's better to just get it in "the Can" then not at all. However there are times when you need to deliberately expose an image slightly "Hotter" then intended because the mix of Fill and…
More of a fun piece then a serious effort on my part, but here is a small video I made using the Canon 5DMKII & a GoPro HD Hero! This was my first time using the GoPro in a more practical way and I have to say, with the right rigging tools, clamps and bits, this camera is really excellent. Yes it's a bit blocky here and there but overall, in good light, this camera is really sharp and capable. The only real downer is the rolling shutter - It's fairly…
A visual tale of Singapore as it awakens to a new day. Shot with the Canon 5DMKII using Time Lapse Photography, this short film was shot entirely in Singapore during the month of April 2010. During the filming I used a Canon 24mm Shift & Tilt lens, a 100-400mm Zoom, a 24-105mm zoom, a 50mm f1.4 and a Lee 10 stop filter. These filters are glass and while fragile, deliver a really nice clean image with very little colour cast. For more information about…
Back in early 2009, I stopped by at a Mill in Daylesford Victoria Australia to have a bit of fun with the video function in my 5DMKII and without much planning, I found myself interviewing the Owner for a mini doco. Barry is a Beekeeper, who not only makes Honey but creates everything he needs to make the Honey. That includes growing the timber to mill into bee boxes etc. Over the years he has collected a bewildering array of surplus including steam…
A short film built from Time Lapse photography I shot around the World. While filming Commercial Projects, I took the time to shoot some time lapse sequences with my Canon 5DMKII using a variety of lenses including a 24mm Shift & Tilt, 50mm f1.4, 15mm fisheye & my 24-105mm zoom. The camera was controlled using a Canon TC-80N3 Intervalometer.
The sequences of images were assembled in Mpeg streamclip by Squared 5 and edited to music, created in Garageband,…
A short film which I hope captures some of the amazing sights of the Old Port of Batavia in Jakarta Indonesia. I Shot this on the 5DMKII in January 2010, while I was on a quick business trip. A special thank you to my driver Fais who helped make this happen, and spent an hour or two, with me filming.
It's amazing that a place like this can exist in modern times. For me, it was like going back in time, when Tall Ships were in their prime! Quite incredible.…
Shot on the Canon 5D MKII DSLR Camera over one night - New Years Eve 2009/2010 in Hong Kong, this video is a montage of the images from that night. Filmed near Central, over looking Hong Kong Harbour, it makes use of the 5DMKII's low light capabilities. I used a 50mm f1.4 Canon lens for some of it, while the rest was shot using a 24-105mm zoom. I also shot some RAW stills which I created a fast motion sequence out of for a bit of editing spice.
Lastly…
