On August 5th the San Jose Gold and Copper Mine collapsed leaving 33 miners trapped 2,041 feet deep below the earth. The dark and damp mazes of the San Jose mine would become home to the 33 entrapped miners for 69 days. Video footage of Hurricane Bill and Tropical Depression Danny swell shot at 5 different east coast central Florida locations during two weekends in August, 09. Hurricane Bill was a long-period swell and it was difficult to find a spot where the waves were not closing out. A fun spontaneous film project my daughter Chelsa and I did together. I shot about 1.5 minute in film. Chose to make the film all slow motion with varying rates. Did very little cutting/ editing of the actual shooting we wanted a more natural playful look. Used superbloom Magic Bullet for special effects.
