On our penultimate night of NYC Premiere Week, we were fortunate to have Joan Gussow, Professor Emerita of Nutrition Education at Columbia University; John Gorzynski of Gorzynski Ornery Farm (and a character in WOAO?); Claudia Keel, President of the Traditional Nutritional Guild; and Marty Mesh of Florida Organic Growers (plus a character/co-producer of WOAO?). We were also joined by our intrepid editor, Emily Paine!
This is an edited version of a preliminary interview with Joan. It appears on the DVD extras of "What's Organic About Organic?"
Eventually, it will be part of the short film that Shelley Rogers is producing about Joan.
For our first weekend matinee, we had a planting workshop with Annie Novak from Growing Chefs/Eagle Street Rooftop Farm and a discussion with Annie Hauck-Lawson, nutrition professor at Brooklyn College/master composter about the benefits of organic food for children, plus a quick run-down on compost!
Documentary film, What's Organic About Organic?, posts videos of its nationwide Screen & Green events. The first 9 videos are of the panel discussions & workshops that followed each screening of the film's NYC Premiere.
More videos will be coming in from our hosts nationwide! Contact us at info@whatsorganicmovie.com if you'd like to host a Screen & Green event.
