1. The Big Give Christmas Challenge: Save the Date and Donate!

We would like to offer a huge thank you to all those that supported us in raising pledges for The Big Give Christmas Challenge.

Every gift we receive online on the 5th, 6th and 7th of December could be doubled through The Big Give and support from our pledgers and Charity Champion. In simple terms this means if you donate £10 to Trestle’s new mask project we will receive £20 and the closer you donate to 10am (when the funds are released) the more likely it is that your donations will be doubled.

We hope you can join us on Saturday 7 December for our Donation Station, Jumble & Bric a Brac Sale, at Trestle Arts Base where Staff will be on hand from 9.30am to guide you through the online donation process and at 10.30am we will open the doors to the Jumble sale!

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is Trestle’s most ambitious fundraising project and we hope that you will be able to spare a few pounds to help support us or spread the word on our behalf in the lead up to the Challenge. Please follow us on Twitter @TrestleTheatre or like us on Facebook /TrestleTheatre for updates and ways in which you can help!

  2. Trestle is delighted to announce their participation in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2013!

Trestle Theatre Company, Hertfordshire's renowned arts and education charity, is thrilled to have been chosen to take part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge whereby donations made online on the 5, 6 and 7 December could be doubled through match funding.

This is a brilliant opportunity for Trestle to raise vital funds to ensure the Company can create a new and exciting mask performance and participation project for young people to enjoy both locally and across the UK. Trestle Patron, Jim Broadbent, says 'I have supported Trestle for over twenty years and have been delighted by the inventive use of mask, puppetry and storytelling'.

Trestle is currently looking for 75 wonderful businesses or individuals to each pledge £100 (or more) by the 11 October 2013!

Any pledges will be used to match public online donations to Trestle in December. It will also give Trestle the opportunity to access funding from its Charity Champions -- This means that a pledge could be worth up to four times as much!

Please consider supporting Trestle by making a pledge today, contact Trestle Marketing and Development Manager, Rhian@trestle.org.uk

  3. The Election is an intergenerational project working with school children and elders to create a debate about democracy and politics from local to global. Since September 2012, we have been working with:

    Samuel Ryder Academy Year 7
    Camp School Year 5
    St Luke’s Community Group

The groups have created their ideal politicians and political parties, drawn up wishlists of key policies and made films about their views on the past, present and future of politics.

The Election website trestle.org.uk/theelection will open the debate up to the general public, who can post their comments or questions here.

  4. Adapted From Hans Christian Andersen’s Magical Tale

This unique adaptation brings together an old European story, with Indian mythology and exotic locations – resulting in a performance rich in colour, music and unforgettable imagery.

After a freak snowstorm on the southern tip of India, Kumar disappears. Gowri, his best friend, discovers that he has been captured by the formidable Snow Queen, and embarks on a journey across the length and breadth of the continent to save him.

From the burning heat of southern India, through lush backwaters, glitzy Bollywood and desolate bandit country, our brave heroine strives to bring the warmth of friendship to the icy north.

Will Kumar be trapped forever in the deathly cold of everlasting winter? Or can his closest friend find a way of melting the Snow Queen’s frozen heart?
