Bei meiner Diplomarbeit 'knowledge' an der BA Ravensburg (Studiengang Mediendesign) handelt es sich um ein fiktives TV-Format, welches wissenswerte Inhalte des aktuellen Zeitgeschehens visuell ansprechend für junge Menschen aufbereitet.
Es zeigt, dass Bildung auch 'cool' aussehen und dabei mehr an Musikfernsehen als an trockenen Geschichtsunterricht erinnern kann.
Der hier zu sehende Beispielbeitrag erklärt in 5 Minuten die Wurzeln des Nahostkonfliktes.
Für die Recherche, die Entwicklung des Drehbuches und das Erstellen der Animation standen 3 1/2 Monate zur Verfügung.

My dissertation, titled 'Knowledge' for my degree at Ravensburg College (subject: media design) deals with a virtual TV format that gives current important matters a more visually attractive shape.
It is especially attractive to younger people. One of my goals is to show that education and learning may also have a 'cool look'. This new look often reminds the viewer more of a TV music video than that of a matter-of-fact history lesson.
The sample – to be seen here – gives a 5-minute-explanation of the roots of the middle-east conflict.
It took about 3 ½ months to research this project, write the story book, and prepare the animation graphics.

Our very first music video - actually our very first of anything really.

Each frame of us playing was printed, cut out, placed into a small set and photographed frame by frame.

The music video was made by us (the band members) using only what we had available: A DV video camera, a colour printer, paper, scissors and a digital stills camera.

I built this synthesizer kit. At first I thought it was broken, but after Jason helped me troubleshoot the circuit I realized that the audio jack was just wired wrong.

This panel is just temporary for putting the whole thing together. I'm going to build a better enclosure to stick everything inside of that will look better than cardboard and ink jet printout.
