The Bloomsburg Huskies defeated the U-Mass Lowell Riverhawks 6-2 to capture their third straight NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship on November 16, 2008 at Bloomsburg University.

November 10, 2008, President Soltz moderated a forum to allow students to voice their reactions to police involvement on November 1 at the Homecoming dance. Most of the students at the forum were at the dance as well, and most were African Americans who felt the campus, town and state police treated them with unnecessary brutality that was racially motivated.

This video contains the majority of the Homecoming forum held on 11-10-08 at Bloomsburg University and a few statements from the town council meeting that was being held at the same time at Bloomsburg town hall. The video is in order leading up to the statements from town hall and then continues with video from WBUQ for the remainder and concludes with an interview with BU President Soltz.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. when Barack Obama was officially declared this country's next president, students swarmed from the dormitories and gathered in front of Elwell hall. The group proceeded to march to downtown Bloomsburg, dancing, shouting and celebrating in the streets, then travelled back up to campus and gathered on the steps of Carver Hall.
