Produced and directed by Ben Wu and David Usui, of Lost & Found Films (www.lostfoundfilms.com). THIS MUST BE THE PLACE There's no place like home. It's where we live, work and dream. It's our sanctuary and our refuge. We can love them or hate them. It can be just for the night or for the rest of our lives. But whoever we may be, we all have a place we call home. THIS MUST BE THE PLACE is a series of short films that explore the idea of

We visited Josh Vogel of Blackcreek Mercantile & Trading Co. in late 2010 and kick started this year with a feature on the wood sculptor based in Kingston, New York. Our experience with him was so profound that we knew we had to pay another visit. This time, to document his story as part of our series. The result is nothing like we've ever done. This film gives little background on who Josh Vogel is, read our feature for more details. Instead it explores

::UPDATE:: On July 8th, 2011, Kim Fahey was jailed for his "blatant refusal" to destroy his own home, which the judge said was a 'risk to the community.' A man is now in jail for expressing himself creatively on his own land through architecture. And we, the taxpayers, are paying for his incarceration. ----- Alan Kimble "Kim" Fahey has spent more than twenty years working, mostly single-handedly, to turn his Acton, California property into the

LIVE STATION

A Self-Sustaining, “Off the Grid” Location for Living, Working and Communicating

Live Station is a location for an individual to disconnect from the grid and reconnect to their humanity. As the information age progresses and technology becomes even more rooted in our everyday life, a place of escape, regeneration and contemplation is necessary. Nature and the absence of people then becomes the means to finding peace and quiet in the world, which in turn allows us to deal with society in a healthier manner.

Combined with this slowing down of time, also present is the ability to document the experience, catalog the ephemeral nature of a quickly changing planet and then reflect upon the research. The vessel itself will be off the grid and independent of societal pressures and needs. Constructed of salvaged and re-purposed materials, and powered by DIY technological devices, such as wind and solar, this station will be self-sustaining and
ultra-efficient.
