Video of our journey up the mountain to visit the ground where our school is to be built. We were accompanied by Yosef, Jimma town's first rastaman and our consultant for the building project. Beju, a carpenter from Jimma town also came with us to advise us and the local carpenters we hired.
You will see at the end of the slideshow pictures of a green lush empty land where our school will be standing in a few months!!

We visited Seka, a town 40 minutes outside of Jimma, to meet with the Woreda Education Bureau. The meeting went very smoothly because they were willing to meet us halfway in our efforts to improve the quality of primary education in Ilketenju. They agreed to place a teacher into every classroom that we built, which would help cut down the average class size for the students.
We then visited an elementary school in Seka built by the Japanese Embassy…

Oolmeedhaayee Satellite School operates under Ilketunjo Primary School.It has 400 students grades 1-4.It was built for little children who can't walk all the way to Ilketunjo . It has only 3 classrooms that in no way foster an environment suitable for educating our youth.We are hoping to rebuild the school and also a library.

We are working with three primary schools in Jimma,Ethiopia.
