This movie presents some work on a HUD for displaying some real-time information to the impromptu programmer. The HUD "floats" over the standard text editing environment providing some graphical UI feedback about the state of the running system. The Magic Lantern firmware for the Canon 5D Mark II adds the ability to display depth of field information, including hyperfocal distance, for lenses that report distance information. Most genuine Canon lenses do so, and all L series lenses report fairly accurate distance measurements.
