Ruddy Daggerwings (Marpesia petreus) nectaring on buttonbush blossoms in an enchanted cypress swamp. Their young feed on the leaves of nearby strangler fig trees. (The little hoverfly buzzing around is just waiting her turn at the nectar.) Happy Spring everyone!

Enjoying my Easter holidays, I decided to practise using my macro lens and to experiment with different DoF. In my father's garden my test object was supposed to be a flowerbed of pansies complemented by an Easter egg - when I was suddenly joined by a ladybird which turned into a much more interesting model.
Shoot with Toshiba Gigashot GSC-K40H and processed with Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus.

This is my second experimental visual using the Canon MP-E 65mm Macro Lens. I have been finding my little friends on my balcony and even growing some flowers to attract them.
I've been amazed by what some of these creatures look like close up. I built a little Macro studio (http://www.darjanpanic.com/photography/making-a-macro-photography-studio-for-5e/)…

Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
