To succeed in the 21st century, governments and corporations will need to think differently about the relationship between innovation, sustainability and health risk. The 2011 Risk Science Symposium brought together thought leaders from industry, government, academia, the media, and other non-government sectors to address these issues and their possible solutions.

Organized by the University of Michigan Risk Science Center with generous support from the Bernstein Fund and other sponsors, the symposium provided a unique cross-sector and cross-disciplinary forum for exploring how new approaches to health risk and technology innovation can more effectively support sustainable development in today's increasingly complex and interconnected world.
