Lost Worlds 100k Trail Series

This is the race series for you! Join us in 2012 for an international series of non-stop 100k and 50k foot races taking you to the world’s most inspiring World Heritage sites. Endurance events at places of matchless and enduring beauty. These places are widely known for their otherworldly beauty and mystery but the rugged and scenic trails and route selected by our experienced race staff is going to be the main feature of each event. 1st stop. Ireland and the Giant's Causeway. Each race is a qualifier for a final 100 mile race set in one of the most spectacular locations in the world. Only those entered in the full 100k or 50k distance categories as individuals or teams are eligible. In order to participate in the 100 mile final race you must qualify by either completing three of our 50k or 100k races in the series or by placing in the top 25 percent of the field at any of the qualifying races and categories. The Coastal Challenge, Rainforest Run

Location: Costa Rica, southwest It's the diversity you will find astounding! The course is set along Costa Rica's tropical Pacific coastline but weaves at times into the Talamancas, a coastal mountain range in the Southwest corner of the country. You’ll finish near the border of Panama in a serene fishing village that until recently was only accessible by boat. Although simple in concept, the race will prove to be extremely difficult in terms of distance, terrain and the tropical climate. The heat and sun will take their toll and you may be severely tested at times. All that said, if you enjoy long distance running or multi-sport competitions, the Coastal Challenge will prove to be a tremendously unique and rewarding running achievement. Jungle and rainforest trails, mountain trail and single track across ridgelines, highlands and coastal ranges; pristine beaches, rocky outcroppings and reefs, river valleys, river and estuary crossings. Welcome to Dominica Crossing, a remote and rugged island trail race. Part of the Lost Worlds Racing Series The Caribs, who settled here in the 14th century, called the island Waitikubuli, which means 'Tall is her Body.' Dominica (DOM-in-EEK-a): This small volcanic island has many names but they all point to a place of unmatched charm, incredible beauty and dramatic terrain features that has been left preserved and unspoiled in its quiet corner of the Caribbean. With several peaks over 4,000ft, it also boasts one of only two World Heritage Sites in the Eastern Caribbean - Dominica's Morne Trois Pitons National Park. Starting at sea level the trail goes right through the heart of the park and climbs up the island's highest peak, Morne Diablotins, 1447 metres (4747 ft). Geographically, Dominica is distinctive in many ways. The country has one of the most rugged landscapes in the Caribbean, covered by a largely unexploited, multi-layered rain forest.
