The End Of The Year, A New Beginning

Becky & Todd’s wedding celebration, at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem, was nothing less than perfect. Dramatic centerpieces – from Elysian Fields Specialty Florals – of tall calla lilies and romantic pink floral arrangements surrounded by candlelight and festive holiday decorations adorned the Grand Ballroom. Mittman Entertainment provided DJ entertainment, a light projection in front of the sweetheart table with the bride and groom’s names and a custom designed Moravian star, and stunning ambient LED uplighting in cosmetic pink like it has never before been seen at Hotel B. Guests and vendors alike could not keep their awestruck gasps hidden as they entered the ballroom. Frank Mitman (no relation, as we always get asked, yet acclaimed in his own right) was the photographer. Robert Horninger's Video Theater was there to capture everything on video, including the special surprise Becky had for her and Todd’s first dance. We secretly produced a unique edited version of Norah Jones’ “Come Away With Me” with a voiceover of Becky pledging her love to Todd. Photo booths can be fun, but have the ability to take energy away from the dance floor. That wasn’t the case here; as the bride’s mom pointed out, “You guys didn’t let that hinder you!” As you’ll see in this video, NOT A SINGLE PERSON was in their seat.

Over the Rainbow

With the assistance and exquisite taste of Catherine Gretta Affairs of Distinction, Janel & Doug's Wizard of Oz themed wedding came to fruition on November 5th. It all began for Janel & Doug with a proposal in a hot air balloon!

The entire restaurant and ballroom at the incredible Grand Colonial was transformed into a fantasy land to appeal to all of their guests' senses. As they entered the restaurant for cocktails, they were led down the yellow brick road by scattered movie quotes; there were delectable treats and signature drinks, whimsical memory making stations, including a wish box, a thumbprint tree, and family photos, all led by the voice of Michael Sherer of Mittman Entertainment, LLC performing hits from the greatest crooners of all time.

After cocktails, guests were toasted and thanked by the bride & groom and then escorted to the "Land of Oz." The ballroom was transformed using gold chiavari chairs & graphite linens accented by gold runners spanning the length of the long tables. Enormous branches for the centerpieces designed by Sarah Petryk of Allium Floral Designs were surrounded by the muted colors of the potted weathered hydrangea's and glistening candlelight. Mittman Entertainment, LLC provided amber LED uplighting throughout the room which lent beautifully to the ivory, sepia, and tea-stained tones. One of the hottest trends in high-end events currently is a live event painter. Joan Zylkin was there working diligently on her masterpiece capturing the essence of the night all on canvas. Steve Mittman of Mittman Entertainment, LLC hosted the evening with perfection and kept the party going strong through the entire night. The bride and groom wanted non-stop dancing and that's what they got. Janel and Doug had their first dance as newlyweds in an elegant spotlight; their parents, brothers, and sisters all joined in towards the end. Mittman Entertainment's Platinum Intelligent Dance Floor Lighting took the excitement to the next level. Alyssa Andrew Photography captured all the magic.

Why LUXE?

Friday, October 7, 2011 we provided entertainment and high-end event production for the incredible wedding of Jess & Brendan at the historic Pearl S. Buck Estate. The beautiful reception was held under a clear top tent filled with candles, in which you could see the moon through the ceiling of the tent. Some of the things that made this wedding unique and amazing were an outdoor lounge with a fire pit, the bride wore blue shoes (which was very cool), the bride and groom cut a strawberry-rhubarb wedding pie instead of the traditional wedding cake. Several other flavors of pie were served to their guests, including apple and peanut butter. Instead of round tables, Jess and Brendan's guests sat at in style, long tables — one of the hottest, current trends. Philadelphia-based, internationally renowned Michael Zorn from Zorn Photography was the couples photojournalist. Mittman Entertainment, LLC provided our world-champion party percussionist and our featured live vocalist/entertainer alternating sets with Steve Mittman as host and DJ.

Jess and Brendan were first introduced to Mittman Entertainment, LLC at last year's LUXE Event at Melt in the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley. The reason we're posting this now is because LUXE ~ A Wedding Event is taking place, once again, this Sunday, November 20, 2011. This time it will be at the fabulous Northampton Country Club on William Penn Highway in Easton. LUXE is exquisitely designed by Catherine Gretta, Affairs of Distinction and is unlike the typical bridal show. It is a prestigious collection of A-List exhibitors and features an unprecedented look at the 2012 in vogue trends for upscale weddings and high-end events.

Curious if you should attend LUXE? After Jess's wedding, Steve Mittman asked her what she thought about the LUXE Event in 2010 where they first met. Here's what Jess had to say:

"Hi there Steve,

We had such an amazing time at the wedding and we can't thank you enough! If there are any other places that we should write a sparkling review, please let us know. You deserve all the publicity we can provide! We'll be sure to share some pictures from Michael once we have them. I know he also enjoyed the entertainment!

Regarding LUXE — I heard about it through word of mouth from a coworker. As soon as you start registering on different sites that are wedding related, you get flooded with bridal show email blasts. I went to a few but they are all the same and didn't really give me any new ideas. The reason I chose to go to LUXE was because it really seemed like a nice event and obviously high-end. You can tell right away from their advertisements that it is different from a regular bridal show. I visited with my mom and close friend and we were blown away by how well put together it was — especially being at Melt. The setup couldn't have been better for you either, being on the 3rd level balcony to perform. We really enjoyed listening to your music and it basically sealed the deal for us. We displayed a very elegant custom monogram projection on the dance floor. Their colors were gold and azalea. The introduction of the bridal party and bride & groom was grand and as said by Alyson, “the music was perfect for cocktails and dinner.” The tone of this affair was peaceful elegance, set behind one great party. It was so peaceful on the golf greens that deer were in plain view basking in the sun on this crisp beautiful day.
