CO-DWELLINGS: Inhabiting/enabling the slope in Valparaíso and Barcelona.

Topographically rugged areas in cities are often ignored by urban planners. Topographic irregularities demand case by case tailored answers, quite the opposite to those endless and repetitive grids adored by municipal governments. That's why in urban hills self-building is always the opening strategy, being that progressive inhabiting what enables the territory. This autonomous relationship between daily life and slope generates a self-taught, mutant and non-transferable landscape. 'Carmel' neighborhood in Barcelona and 'Cerro Cordillera' in Valparaíso, are good past and present examples about this way of tackling the urban. In "CO-DWELLINGS" the images of the first dialogue with the stories of the second.
