Im ersten Designmonat hieß es einen Monat lang in der gesamten Steiermark, aber vor allem in der Landeshauptstadt Graz: „Alles Design“. Als zentrale Dreheschreibe ist es der Netzwerksgesellschaft Creative Industries Styria gelungen, die kreativen Kräfte zu bündeln und sichtbar zu machen.
Ziel des Contests war es, eine(n) steirische(n) ArchitektIn/DesignerIn auszuwählen, der/die gemeinsam mit der Schweizer Firma Züco einen Prototypen für ein Sitzmöbel entwickelt, welches in weiterer Folge auch Serienreife erlangen sollte. In insgesamt 3 Workshops wurden konkrete Konzepte und Entwürfe erarbeitet. Als Sieger ging Prof. Manfred Wolff-Plottegg mit dem Vorläufer hervor.
