SERAPH FILMS, L.L.C. is pleased to announce the release of its much-anticipated horror film VISIONS. El Cid will host a red carpet premiere on October 30th with a Seraph Films YouTube channel release on Halloween: youtube.com/TheSeraphFilms.

VISIONS stars Molly Jackson, Nicholas Jaqua, Leslie McKeller, Jon J. Peterson, and Liv Southard. The film was written by Gene Blalock, the company's founder and the film's director, Andria
Chamberlin, Director of Photography, and writer/producer James Boring.

Featuring supernatural and psychological elements, the film focuses on concepts of possession, sexual abuse, and the tenuous balance of a family torn apart by secrets and betrayal. VISIONS explores a family fighting an evil force that threatens to consume Debbie, one of its youngest members. The emotional weight of her child's descent into darkness deeply affects Sara who is unsure whether faith or practicality will save her daughter.

"We are very proud of the work we've done with the Horror Haiku series and our other short films this year," says Blalock. "VISIONS is a return to the strictly narrative form that dominated our work in previous years." Chamberlin adds, "VISIONS is a labor of love and we're grateful that the pieces fell together when and how they did."

In 2013, Seraph launched its popular micro-short series Horror Haiku and has continued to define its voice with Good with Children and VISIONS. The group is excited to share future releases To Kristin with Love, Among the Shadows, and My Christmas Wish, in addition to the fourth season of Horror Haiku.

Seraph Films, L.L.C is a group of dedicated filmmakers based in Los Angeles whose credo is quality, audience, content.

    A SECOND CHANCE AT CHRISTMAS
A gift from the heart is the best gift of all.

It's all too easy to forget the real gifts of the holidays, building our lives around the meaningless and seeking joy in the pointless. When an accidental meeting between people from worlds apart leads to choices, they receive the gift of opportunity - to stand fast or take a chance.

    COMING HALLOWEEN 2012

AMONG THE SHADOWS is the workig title for our new short film. Without giving too much away, the concept behind the film involves "Shadow People," supernatural creatures that are only barely visible in one's peripheral vision and who feed on our fears. Our film follows one young woman as she tries to face the deep psychological scars of having been followed by shadow people her whole life.

    WHO WE ARE

Seraph Films is a collective of independent filmmakers that work together to produce new short films that premiere the last Friday of most months. These non-genre specific films are part of our effort to create unconstrained, compelling, and often challenging films - letting our creative ideas run wild - and then sharing them with you.

Seraph Films was founded by producer / director Gene Blalock to focus on producing quality, character-driven projects for film, television and new media, while providing educational opportunities for all of our members. As a group, we are committed to uncompromising values, longstanding relationships, and an enduring creative spirit.

Beyond our art, we are passionate about our imprint on this planet and work diligently to reduce our consumption and promote responsible production - we have a large vegan / vegetarian group as well as a subtsantial animal-rights constituency. We care about things, which is why we seem to work well together.

    OUR WORK

When we began, we decided to try to accomplish a goal of completing one short film each month on a very limited budget. Though we haven't been entirely true to our timetable, we've completed six films and are currently in post production on our latest. All of our completed films were produced for $500 or less.

Just so, we'd like to do something REALLY SPECIAL for Halloween, but we won't be able to afford the locations and other additional expenses on a five hundred dollar budget. So, we've set our sights higher in the hope that our friends and maybe even people we don't know will help us get there. We're hoping for $5,000, which is still pretty low for a "film," but with all of us volunteering and our line producer nagging us constantly, we are sure we can bring it in on budget. Of course, if we get any extra, we'll incorporate that into making this even better, and use it towards film festival fees!

You can see all of our short films here:

All our films are insured and S.A.G. approved.

    WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?

    - Location Fees! Who knew that $500 per day was a fantastic bargain?
    - Makeup - after all, we're talking HALLOWEEN!
    - Effects and CGI - we can do some in-house, but we expect to need a little extra this time.
    - Food! Yes, with about 20-30 volunteers involved in each shoot, coordinating food is vital.
    - Any extra funds will allow us to take this film to the festival market.

    OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP

Some people just can't contribute, but that doesn't mean they can't help:

Ask folks to get the word out and make some noise about this film.

Some dreams should not be followed. When the line between reality and dream blurs, sometimes it is better to walk away. After all, the proverbial cat would have been just fine except for its penchant for curiosity. Happening past a house she's seen in her dreams for months, Cynthia isn't sure why she feels so compelled to find out what it means. But as she enters the doorway, she has no choice but to search further. Will she finally find peace or a more menacing truth that casts aside the light to reveal only a more forbidding darkness?
