A personal experimental documentary in which my Mother and I return the remains of William Gray Moyes to the Earth in 60 seconds at Pyramid Lake, NV.
Shot on an iPhone 4S on 2/6/13 In Sparks + Pyramid Lake, Nevada
A short film by Jennifer Keyser and Karl Lind
Created for the NW Film Center's 40th Birthday
Inspired by the poem "In the next galaxy" by Ruth Stone
Things will be different.
No one will lose their sight,
their hearing, their gallbladder.
It will be all Catskills with brand
new wrap-around verandas.
The idea of Hitler will not
have vibrated yet.
While back here,
they are still cleaning out
pockets of wrinkled
Nazis hiding in Argentina.
But in the next galaxy,
certain planets will have true
blue skies and drinking water.
Directed by Karl Lind, 2011 (HD)
Summary: A time traveling animatronic Abe Lincoln appears at a Sparks Nevada sports mall to re-deliver the Gettysburg Address and adds a sense of universal urgency to an old tract.
“Do we know Abraham Lincoln in any other form than animatronic or wax figure? In this uncanny scenario, an animatronic Abe Lincoln recites the Gettysburg Address in a shopping mall which then folds in behind him.”
