The Huntington Botanical Gardens prepares a new acquisition for the Japanese Gardens, a traditional Tea House. There are fourteen chapters in this sequence of time-lapse videos.
This sequence depicts the three weeks spent building the roof of the tea house. Artisans from Japan specializing in copper and ceramic arrived to help the carpenters perform the specialized tasks required.
This time-lapse sequence was shot during the days of June 20-21, 2011 at The Huntington's Japanese Garden. Part of a series of sequences I will be creating from an archive of over 100,000 still images and several clips of real-time video.
Stay tuned for more of this intriguing story.....
Time-Lapse at The Huntington Botanical Gardens
For many months I have been documenting specific activities as The Huntington prepares for its' centennial celebration in 2012.
For the tea house a total of eight "chapters" will be produced.
