Elina's mother always said “If you have bread, cheese, olives and salami in the house then you will always have something to eat and something to offer any unexpected guests”.

Elina inherited her love of food and music from her Italian parents. She can be found baking bread in her canteena or amongst the grape vines on her "block" on the Murray River. Wherever Elina goes, you can be sure to find the freshest and most authentic home-made Italian food and produce.

Shirley Gill is living proof that you are never too old to dance. At a time when Spanish dance was unheard of in the Sunraysia region, Shirley began to learn the basics of ballet in her twenties, in the hope that one day she would find someone to teach her flamenco. Once the flame was lit, her passion for Spanish dance has never diminished. Still performing in her seventies, Shirley is an inspiration to all.
