On September 21, more than 125 attendees from 12 countries gathered in Brussels for frequent traveler seminar "TravelMagic 2013" at The Hotel - Brussels.
When did living excessively become the norm in our culture? When did we decide that more is better but better is never enough? When did social media, fancy cars, and expensive clothing take priority over family, friends and the things we're passionate about? Somewhere along the way our society has become more focused on attaining fleeting sources of gratification rather than working towards establishing true, lasting joy.
And that needs to change.
Thrive With Less is a documentary film exploring minimal living in an excess driven culture. It was created by six student filmmakers at Michigan State University.

Dan Ferrigan talks "The Way We Get By" and filmmaking. Shot by Qinshu Zuo and myself.
Some of this work was shot for clients. Some for my own personal projects. There are some Canon C300 clips here from Boston Creative Pro User Group (BOSCPUG) short film called "HUSTLE." The shots I used in my demo were some of the ones in which I was the DP. You can see the entire film here: vimeo.com/37154329 and learn more about how HUSTLE was created by visiting my website for this cool BTS:
More clips from another Canon C300 collaboration I shot with Paul Antico and Michael Murie from the short film called "The Cost." The clips I included here are also shots in which I was the DP. You can watch "The Cost" here: vimeo.com/37151341
I want to thank Mike Sutton, Kessler Crane, Dan Chung, Preston Kanak, Chris Loughran, Dan Berube and Paul Antico for supporting my work.
Having traveled to Singapore many times now and having produced a few shorts on this beautiful city in Southeast Asia, this time I thought it would be fun to interview some friends to see what their take is on the place I've grown to love. Since I was not "working" while I was there, I only brought out my camera and gear while eating and hanging where the cool kids hang. I wish there had been more time to shoot, but that would not have been fair to the folks I was there to see.
I hope you enjoy it!
