One of the best days of Dry Fly Fishing ever with large trout on small flies in very technical water, PMD afternoon hatches, microscopic rise forms, 20 foot 5x furled leaders with 10 foot tippets.
The local guides are telling us this week, that the same fish are twice as fat and heavy as they were a month ago! NEXT YEAR we hit the tricos and hoppers in August.
I quote my nephews at Bidwell--Mat and Mike-- "We got there fast, we found em quick, we brought them home..." metaphorically of course.

Some fishing partners are tall. Some are short. Anthony of False Casts and Flat Tires is the Leprechaun. I, apparently, am the Yeti. A couple of days of fly fishing on the Bitterroot. We got into some solid rainbows and browns, but nothing too extraordinary. Things are heating up, but we could have said that about the entire winter. Although, it is good to have some dry fly fishing on the horizon.

You know that saying that doesn't exist "One man's scraps is another man's scraps." This is a video of one man's scraps. I have taken video throughout many of my year's adventures on the water. Action from February through November. From Montana to Colorado.
***Please watch in HD, be patient it may take a few minutes longer***
This is our 2012 Fish Reel! A collaboration of some of our best fly fishing shots of 2012, jam packed into 4 minutes of video! It's never easy to try to cut a years worth of footage into 4 minutes, but we're excited with the progression we made this year and are looking forward to 2013!!!

Everyday on the river is a memorable one. Whether its a day that you catch your biggest fish, or the day that you caught no fish at all. In this short film Zack hooks into a large rainbow, only to have the fish break his line. After a fifteen minute lunch break Zack casts a line into the same hole, looking for redemption.
