A mutual support and information group meeting weekly for female sanctuary (asylum) seekers and their children. Aiming to provide a warm and caring, friendly environment which helps to reduce mental distress.
There will also be outings arranged three times a year and Christmas party for the children.
In addition to involving the local parish, it is hoped to involve the University Catholic Student Group, and the St Vincent de Paul Society.
The ‘Voices of the Unheard’ DVD will put a human face and story to the academic research investigating the situation of Irish Travellers in 139 prisons in England and Wales. The DVD will thereby transform a necessarily formal research report into an intensely moving personal vignette of the reports’ themes.

The project aims to build the capacity for diocesan youth services, youth organisations and movements to understand and respond appropriately to the mental health issues relevant to Catholic young people today. It will conduct research into stress, anxiety and desire for happiness among young Catholics, and the impact of these on their mental health, including the extent to which this is influenced by faith.
