1. Scott Cobb urging people to attend the hearing on impeaching Sharon Keller.

Please make plans to attend the meeting of the Texas House Committee on Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence on April 27 when they will take testimony on Lon Burnam's resolution to impeach Sharon Keller.

This resolution, HR 480 by Lon Burnam, would create a select committee in the House to investigate further whether Sharon Keller should be impeached for her refusal to accept an appeal 20 minutes after 5 PM for a person on the day of his execution.

If you believe that Keller should be impeached, please plan to attend and fill out a Witness Affirmation form in support of HR 480. We want to have lots and lots of people sign in to support impeachment.

We will announce the time and room number of the hearing as soon as we confirm those details, but put April 27 on your calendar as a day to go to the capitol in the afternoon and sign a witness affirmation form in support of HR 480. It only takes five minutes to fill out the form, but you have to be there in person to fill it out and turn it in.

If Keller is impeached by the Texas House, she will have a trial in the Senate. Importantly, if she is impeached, she will automatically be suspended from office until her Senate trial is over.

Whether or not Keller is impeached, she still faces a public trial starting on August 17 on charges against her by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, but she also needs to be impeached, suspended from office and removed as soon as possible.

In November 2007, we held a protest on the sidewalk outside of Keller's million dollar home in Austin. youtube.com/watch?v=tSrUIK...

We filed an official complaint against Keller with the State Commission on Judical Conduct that was signed by about 1,900 people who were outraged at Keller's unethical behavior.

Watch video of us delivering a copy of the complaint to the Court of Criminal Appeals. The video includes a statement by the sister of Michael Richard, the person for whom Keller refused to accept the appeal. Richard is the person in the picture on the right.
