Description: Beginning with a circle, simple features are added to the face to create expression. Triangle, rectangles, and ovals are combined into the overall character. A background line is added to demonstrate overlapping to show depth in the picture plane. A light source (the sun) is placed in the upper right corner and the circle body is shaded on the opposite side. Finally a shadow is drawn on the ground extending into the foreground.
