George Dante is founder of Wildlife Preservations, a New Jersey-based design firm responsible for the extraordinary dioramas of the American Museum of Natural History, as well as many other installations in museums, parks, and private homes around the world.
The company's expertise includes the construction of models, sculptures, large-scale taxidermy, “rockworks,” and other simulated environments, including the decorative use of artificial snow, a compound that is “washable, resistant to ultraviolet light, and can withstand sustained winds over 155 mph.”

Dante's presentation was an expert introduction to the technique and artistry of professional landscape simulation. It was followed by a conversation about the blurred lines between the natural and the artificial, the future of exhibition display, and other strange augmentations of architectural design.
