The story begins in the courtyard of an old school converted to become, a psychiatric institution, somewhere on the territory of the former Soviet Union.
A doctor takes his usual promenade. His life is regulated by strict and uncompromising routine.
Here he is master of his time and supreme ruler all within his personal empire.
A foreboding of tragedy is invoked by resonant sounds and pale colours: a white doctor’s robe, a syringe, an old radio and a small child…
As the film rolls out, we meet some other people linked to the institution: visitor, cleaner and patient.
Do they really exist, or are they the products of delusion? The answer to that question and connection between those people have to be discovered by a viewer.
