Same show, Smalls in Hamtramck. I bet it was winter. Actually I know it was. It feels like winter when I watch this:) This was well after the Capitol Records stuff.... a confusing time between feeling like a "somebody" and a "nobody". Not long after, I moved to L.A. and inadvertently grew more anonymous, a humbling experience, but enlightening nonetheless.

This was probably somewhere around 2005. I had really just started performing live. Can you tell;) Looks like a weekday night as Smalls in Hamtramck. What am I wearing? I don't know. I remember I got that shirt at the Detroit Design Lab. I was SO all about it. This track is an unreleased four-track recording... as was many of my songs at that time.
