Insight: Some know this and some don't but Drake is an AKA to his other half - Aubrey Graham - Star of the hit T.V. show Degrassi. While in the editing suite I kept watching this one pass. It took my back to some Puff and Mase "Been Around The World Remix" type stuff. Every frame looked genuine and their energy electric. After watching the pass for the 4th or 5th time I gave Drake a call. He was on set with Trey (Trey was shooting "Wonder Woman" with Little X at the time) and told him an idea I had...I was looking at the fact that all his fans are internet savvy and they look for all things Drake. My thinking was I was giving nothing away but the color purple (anyone notice how big purple is now?), my hope was that it would go "viral" so I had a few friends randomly upload it to YouTube as if it was a stolen version. Once it went up, Drakes rabid fans and the public were thinking I was on some minimalist tip or it was a green screen waiting for some after effects- either way it caused an instant stir resulting in over 40k hits in less than 8hrs with zero promo of leak, just off the strength of some friends on messenger and some good ol' word-of-mouth. Setting the stage for an online protocol that Drake used with the online launch of his classic mixtape "So Far Gone" and proof that Drizzy has a serious fervent online fan base and the skills to shut nay-sayers up.
Shout out to Drake for giving me a shot, Oliver for helping the vision come to life and to set the path of aspiration and achievement, Uncle Steve for the words of wisdom, great conversation and belief in the vision and Trey for coming with genuine star power.
