Sir's entry for the Zuco 103 music video contest for the song 'Saudade', it got nominated for the top 5. The idea of the band: “We could put video footage online after which people around the globe could edit it and thus make the new music video of ZUCO 103!” This resulted in around 2500 frames of animation mixed with the live action material. Can you tell which parts are real?

This animated short tells the story of a couple playing a game of Capoeira Angola in the park. It is an ancient martial art of African origin, one of the many cultural weapons used to break the chains of enslavement in Brazil. The technique of rotoscoping (tracing video frame by frame) is used to give the movements an extra dimension, it took about 1200 sketches to make the animation. A little stop motion bumper for the Museum Night in Amsterdam, made during the Doe-het-niet-zelf animatiedagen (Do-not-do-it-yourself animation days). Made with rubber letters and a lens. In Dutch, ‘n8’ (nacht) means ‘night’, it is the logo for Museum Night.
