Re new movie script from James Roberts asking for my contribution RECEIVED IN LATE APRIL, 2009:Hi Chris Thanks for taking the time to deliver your feedback it was very useful. I understand your original reaction of “what drugs is he taking” lol. For the record I don't even smoke or drink let alone take drugs so it's all just my own thoughts :) As for Aaron and Nicha I know they could be……..Their scenes serve as a way for us to see…….interact with others so we get to know him a bit better. The idea is to bring a touch of normality through the kind of office ………. I think that helps advance the central plot and will have greater significance on repeat viewings. What do you think?

When it comes to the ………......I understand your concern. I know it may be hard for many people to watch but in a way that's………... they symbolise everything……….

Thanks for all your other comments too.

Oh and don't worry about the film reviews. I just havent had time to reply all week I wasn't offended lol. I know I write them with my own opinions very prominant and in a way I find it hard to watch films without thinking "how would I have done that differently". It's all just a bit of fun, I post them at work and to friends on Facebook. Part of the fun is stiring up a reaction and reading the responses

Oh and I posted your Youtube link at Framestore too so it was sent to nearly 1000 people. Hope that helps

from James

I've left dot dot dot dot blanks to protect some "Ideas" ^_^

NOW REVEALED 'JAMES ROBERTS' COMMENTS ON THE STAFF BLOG AND SPOOKY WEEKEND PROJECT RELATED VIDEOS OR PROJECT PAGES ARE MORE LIKELY TO BE KNOWN BY BRASCO WHO IS WORKING ON THE ABOVE FILM WITH 'JAMES ROBERTS'

It sounds like they might need a new plot folks ^_^

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT:
Just thought the above and the fact that James is asking for my input, might show what an ok relationship I have always believed we have and, hopefully, calm down any doppelganger’s left over from Halloween and whoever brasco is, (who I believe is working on this movie). I for one of many, still think the spooky w-end project was great fun and the fact that I had always referenced the original Dementia, an entirely different story, still baffles as to who the other JR Vimian is, (who shot JR!) ?

I’m thinking of collaborating with Father Christmas soon. But only the real one ^_^

vimeo.com/groups/weekendproject/videos/7363178 Support MY!MY!MY!littlesweetkitty video that features new music, new cuts, new animations and James Roberts. But, most of all: FUN, SPOOK.

Also on vimeo.com/groups/spooky/videos/7363178

What I enjoyed the most above was composing new hip hop music and making fun animations that was supposed to be the Vimeo offices haunted on Halloween night. I also thought my opening SFX beneath the titles with the howls and ghouls was spooky. That was all new audio as well and never on any of the footage. The opening shot of James Roberts putting the boot in. His famous opening walk, I think, set the pace for the action outside the Vimeo offices and in Central Park. But, I think I always wanted to offset its pretty aggressive and violent (Zombie) feel with much softer Zombie-Hop and comedic touches. Hence, the ambience or juxta-pose of the music with my end scream of “Is It Alive”. I always like giving it a bit of mouth ^_^

But most of all folks, check out these spooky, spooky Vimeo Thrillers and congrats to Winners:

Trey Cook:

Oz Smith
vimeo.com/7426989

I think what was absolutely brilliant about both above, is that they both were trying to be nothing more than genuinely spooky and that’s essentially what the really clear and fair Vimeo Brief asked for. I was particularly inspired that Sir Oz Smith got his Director’s act and production together from start to finish in 48 hours only.

I might have to introduce Oz to Robin Hood and his actress Miranda to Maid Marian...These guys were cooking ^_^

vimeo.com/7262480 My second collaboration with the ever lovely Sonia Mansour where she recreates a two dimensional Richard Ashcroft rewalking that famous outer-London-path of The Bitter Sweet Symphony......Alright, (in a London accent)...

It had to happen: WIDE OPEN SPACE IV.Yup, in space there is no end and that series still has legs and i've been kicking stuff around...There's a whole range of Paul Draper - Mansun music from The Attack of The Grey Lantern genre that still needs exploring...Also, got a whole album of Best Believes and about time I explored Stray Theories' ambient chill outs again. Plus, I'm hoping young Sonia Mansour has something up her very talented 2D sleeves. This time around I've said I want joint Director Credits and on her Vimeo Channel first...She's playing with some concepts. So we will collaborate more. Thank God for Good Colabs that work. I guess Halloween is all about getting shocked; but the very, very last thing I ever expected was a guy that is working on a new movie with JR to get jealous or funny or bitchy with me....It honestly knocked the stuffing out of me a little. You do begin to learn with Social Media that you need to acquire so many layers of emotion. The Moderators must have nightmares some times, because this time around I kinda felt like I was being stalked a little. The irony is, I get the transitions brief wrong - I get this one sooooooo right, I think; and then some other Zombie wakes from the dead who I don't even know. With absolutely no respect to this person called brasko, he has just potentially ruined what had been a fine relationship and good promo for JR...Thems are the breaks. For a moment I thought f.videos and I will just not make any more for a long time. But us filmmakers always say that, don't we, but there's that calling and mine is howling again. CUL8R everyone and thanks sooooo much to those Vimians I'm beginning to feel quite attached to. ^_^

1 – OUT OF THE WOODS: The tragic journey of Sydney-Hobart yacht racing heroes, Andrew Short and Sally Gordon, as told through the music, which I gave a new genre I call AGM, (Avant-Garde-Melodic), mixed with my repetitive frames from the sea and usual sparse animation. The mirror effects all go towards telling a tale of raging waters and loved ones safely back on shore. They reflect on what was the majesty of the mighty US built boat, Shockwave, (renamed PricewaterhouseCoopers) and the mystery of how one of the world’s most experienced Skipper’s and one of the fastest and strongest yachts in Australia could all but disappear into fragments. It was somebody else’s will that saved all 16 crew members, including two of Andrew’s boys. Andrew Short remained at the wheel-helm until the end and a fallen victor helped by his loyal and brave crewmate, Sally Gordon. With thanks to cool new Sydney band, The Best Believes and with everlasting love and heartfelt wishes to Andrew, Sally, their families and the Australia and World Sailing Community.

2- KYLE SANDILANDS GOT COMMERCIAL RADIO AWARD AGAIN & AGAIN: Many wrote in saying they loved our Blue Peter and Playschool skits on Kyle and were fascinated about coming from a land down under where men don’t just use nursery rhymes but chop down individuals faster than they do trees to try and save guys in the bush. Yes folks you guessed, you feel a tall poppy song coming on. Wow, I feel like that small guy in the funny suit. Let’s kick up a hate campaign? Who can we “get” this week to save the ratings, start a new show or even make way for some other shock waves to wash up a radio award? Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Australia. The land of contrasts so fast that you might be getting a tad confused. One minute it’s racism, the next it’s war crimes and then you’ve got these bunch of guys saying what Political Correctness is. Just tune into Rove daily, he and the PM control it. He says that Kyle Sandilands is a total arse hole so I better believe him, NOT! Maybe he should talk to David Letterman about his suits? Maybe he should learn that ratings are not tarps any more and maybe he should just change his name to sponsorship, ‘cos he sure ‘aint no comedian anymore. And shooting John Lennon was not funny. I wonder if I went to Comedy School tomorrow, they would tell me to do it that way. It kind of seems like Vaudeville TV or VT and that sounds like something you should not catch or pay for ^_^

Thank goodness for Australian Idol?.....Wait a minute ^-^ This Australian Media teach me to hate Kyle thing or hate that hey, hey guy or whoever it is I’m supposed to hate next is actually so transparent it’s stupid. It’s the worst basic TV and Radio PR I have ever witnessed in my life. Someone told me the other day it’s just TV doing what it does best. Pulling people down and putting people up. Oh yeah, I ‘get it’ now.

3- AND NINE NETWORK WEATHER MANWOMAN (^_^) IS? Maybe I should go for that 9 Weatherman job? I’d be amazing ^_^ I could change daily, just like the real weather. One minute all pommy and james bond, the next with a bucket of water over my head doing slapstick vaudeville black and white minstrels with that hey hey guy and the ch 10 ‘suits’ on Rove ^_^ But listen folks, I do not particularly want to be the reason the nine network claims to be the best next job in the world and they have already signed Natalie from The Tube’s communitychannel anyway ^_^ And they did that ‘cos that man that wears funny bluetooth head gear and runs AIMIA in the round has told his last MIPCOM that hey WOW-She’s the future ^_^ Actually, I think babyporridge would have been so much better, because she can sing man and reading the weather is very Idol. I reckon Jay Dee Springbett should do it. Such an easy name to remember. It rolls off the tongue, just like his shining head probably does from everyone begging their next audition ^_^ No seriously, he’d be an excellent weather guy. He’s much more qualified. The A&R thing is just a cover-up and that would be a way they could get someone really entertaining to judge like, Kyle Sandilands.

And really, there is a slightly more serious side to my incredibly lame satire. Only as little ago as April, 2008, we were being “told” that the Nova breakfast team of Merrick Watts and Tim Ross were warned by police and the RTA for giving prizes to motorists who disrupted peak-hour traffic. It’s difficult to know nowadays whether what the media and media planners say is an April Fools Joke or Audited ^_^ So I’ll just finally end this by saying, without any agenda, give me James Packer any day rather than the grime that call themselves CEO’s or Fat Telly Tubby Controllers, ‘cos these guys are off the rails and actually really care only about their money, (mainly their own) and they care little about the homeless or needy. They are the cause of many a recession, credit crunch or so called dotcom bust. And, generally, they are still fat, drive fast cars, drink heaps and cause economic crisis. The big, big difference is that James Packer, David Letterman and Kyle Sandilands have always worn better suits.

4 – WEB 2.0: TO BE CONTINUED AND CONTINUED AND zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz: Tim O’Reilly did not invent the generic label web 2.0; he ran its first conference in 2004. Conferences, Conferences, our Kingdom for a Conference! That will one day be up-to-date and intuitive and really about revolution, not just straightforward evolution. 2010-2012: Please start delivering those conferences and exciting debate on 3.0, HD Phones and beyond, please. Yes folks, web 2.0 started even before Google and it began rather illegally I’m afraid with a little app called Napster that became a giant Rabbit-of-a-tool that went on to legally change the distribution and copyright of music with legal apps modeled on Napster, Kazaa and any P2P app you care to bang on about. Tim O’Reilly’s 2004 gig was based on philosophies built by guys like Peter Gabriel, who as far as I remember, did not publish news, but quite single handedly predicted “second generation web”. This was well before the so called dotcom…. Whatever it was they called the last credit crunch before the latest one and the next one…..

With respect to these “writers” banging on about web 2.0, ‘cos as u can clearly see, I’m not one ^_^…..(A writer, that is)..I’ve heard these guys were quite good at English Language at school; but their history was totally f.f.f..flawed ^_^

The music industry (and several others) could have owned it, but we all know that so easily and retrospectively now, from all the conferences repeating the subject of collaborative content and file or information sharing over the last fifteen years worldwide. And, funnily enough, it’s been the networks of newspaper owners and tv bods that have kept us all-up-to-date on the “revolution” that many of them are now trying to call something very different. They are now a tad scared of the revolution they all “labeled”.

It is not a revolution but simply cultural evolution and evolution is cool. I wish people would start writing about the licensed content files. About music that is now being written specifically as a film, but not as a soundtrack. Start writing about novelists that have sold screenplays to 60 US, 60 Europe and 78 Asia based game publishers. Start seeing that there is a thriving and healthy energy called Filmmaking that is already steadfastly looking at the interactive storytelling genre and that these are blockbusters waiting to happen.

Start looking at a handful of ads that are beginning to tell good storylines again. Some purposely rebuilt with no standard beginning, middle or end, but plenty of entry points. In simple terms, interactive.

Practically any original “quality” source content can become a viral marketing sale or create a multi-channel new interest in being recreated. That’s evolution baby.

But, web 2.0. That has been around for almost as long as all those other “revolutions” called newspapers, tv, radio and music that cannot give up banging on about it rather than firmly embracing it.

It’s therefore pleasing that some blogs really are authorities on fragmentation, digital legislation and recognizing realistically that content mediocrity will always be part of any evolution. Just like a lot of the crap TV shows, newspaper articles and conferences out there.

Mike Walsh, I believe, is one such man on a mission and with a blog that recognises certain commercial structure will never disappear, but that hybrid and open user-generation has on more than one occasion, made swirling profits and beautiful art. His current insight briefing “Be Sweet, Please Retweet” makes interesting reading: mike-walsh.com/

5– ROBIN KEEPS RIDING: And a message from Robin Hood: “No matter how much fun anyone has, they always have more with a brief that is well written and easy to understand. Collaborations with Maid Marian work brilliantly. Collaborations with The Bride of Dracula have to be very carefully reconsidered. Robin Hood, Robin Hood riding through the tide. Robin Hood, Robin Hood not talking from the side. Speak from the hip. Don't just give rhetoric. Robin Hood. Robin Hood. Robin Hood" Download the "30 Odd Foot of Grunts" MP3 of the song here ^_^

And just because I want to talk about a great singer, songwriter, performer: Jessica Mauboy deserves every one of the eight million Aria’s she’s been nominated for, but at least one better video. Watch this Space. It's Wide Open. It’s also time for another pop-actress siren worldwide and she is setting off a lot of alarm bells.

The Wide Open Space is a 24hr cloud with all videos, articles and archives where and when you want, just like marmite, I mean vegemite. Either direct to your thumbnail on the page, through the v-channels; or many channels.
