This is a visual/audio collaboration between Nathan and Fae Harmer using a mindful approach to composition.
All source material was collected in a one day journey across London using iPhone 4 as camera, binaural, photophonic and Electro magnetic microphones.
The material was then transformed using a variety of modules created in Max/MSP/Jitter. These transformations of audio and visual material were then analysed using a variety of methods as a means of collecting data to automate further transformations highlighting negative circular thinking.
The piece shows a movement to a more aware and self-compassionate state of being moment by moment, step by step.
EXT1 is an interactive installation focused on themes of obsolescence, nostalgia and cultural detritus.
Movement within the space causes fluctuations in the sonic environment provided by three Cassette Tape Loops an Xbox Kinect sensor and Max/MSP/Jitter/Gen.
