Common Core 360 was developed to help schools make a smooth transition into the new Common Core State Standards by providing videos, case studies, and new tools to demonstrate how other schools are using the standards and to give help in understanding and implementing them.
New tools with Common Core 360 include the Learning Progression Tool, which allows you to track what students should learn each year and how they are building on prior knowledge and skills, and LiveBook, a dynamic new book that provides a way to interact with the author and other readers. The first LiveBook is "Mapping to the Common Core" by Heidi Hayes Jacobs.
An example lesson that demonstrates methodology and techniques that support Common Core-based instruction, moving at a slower, more deliberate pace, while encouraging students to engage directly and in-depth with complex texts.
This video will serve as a guide to the Common Core State Standards for parents and guardians. Included within the video is everything you need to know, including study habits, to help your child be successful with the new standards.
