This project was the culmination of several weeks' work rigging my own "robot". The robot first had to be modeled in Maya, UV mapped, and textured, and then finally rigged with a basic skeleton. This was my first experience with rigging in Maya. We follow my robot as he patrols a desolate city street, searching for any survivors.
This was my final project for Animation I. Here we follow the bombardier on a World War II-era bomber, as he regains consciousness and finds himself on the floor in the bomb bay of the plane. I worked on it over the course of three weeks, and then presented in a class critique.
All the models and animation were done in Autodesk Maya 2010, and created by me.
The objective of the project was to place the camera on a motion track, much like a theme park ride. I created a mecha cockpit around the camera, made the cockpit the parent object over the camera, and slowed the cockpit's progress in regular intervals to create the illusion of footsteps.
The objective of the project was to create a 3D Animation that looped seamlessly.
