peanut and pickle sandwich channel

This is my first stop motion film. I've been quite into stop motion for a long time, particularly the works of many Eastern European stop motion artists. Recently a few of my friends and I realized we had this in common and formed a collective, The Bearded Birds. One of these birds loaned me a camera and I went to work. This film is actually several shorts edited together. The background in the set are actually assemblages I put together for an art show several years ago, along with a few unfinished paintings I had lying around my studio. I collected leaves and twigs and things to create the rest of the set. I had also recorded the musical composition awhile ago. As I began filming I did not have a narrative in mind, but improvised each clip based on a mood. When I was done the loose narrative made itself known. The musical piece also suggested itself. Future projects include music videos for two Portland bands - Norfolk & Western (one of my bands) and Loch Lomond.

This was shot with an Panasonic HVX200 and a Canon 1dMIII.

This is a documentary that I made a teaser for about The lily's, a really great band that was in Philly for a while. The lead man Kurt Heasley has had over 75 band members in the Lily's. The documentary is still in the works, but is definitely going to be interesting.
