Progressing in Faith

We were not meant to live life alone. Jesus promised us another, just like him who would indwell, instruct, and empower us- the Holy Spirit.

Jesus' teaching, ministry, and life revealed that the Holy Spirit is available to all. All we must do is avail ourselves to it.

The holiness of the scribes and the pharisees was based on outward acts or not doing what we really want to do. Jesus invites us into a change of heart, so that we begin to actually want what is good, and noble, and true, and beautiful.

Like the widow who kept returning to the unjust judge until he finally relented, we continuously return to God in prayer. Unceasing prayer transforms out heart, reveals God's heart to us, and tugs at God's heart.

What we can learn from Jesus about the prayer-filled life: the importance of solitude, how to pray, the possibility that God speaks to us, and that we work together with God.
