  2. is this good? were invited to create an interactive installation at Nuits Sonores, an electronic music and art festival in Lyon, France, in May 2013.

We worked alongside Lyon-based Architects lookingforarchitecture.com to create a huge interactive pyramid.

A matrix of 6 Kinect cameras tracked people as they moved across the pyramid, triggering DMX lighting in the structure and generative graphics on the screens above.

Special thanks to Pierre-Marie Oullion and Alexis Bergeron from Nuits Sonores, and to Robin Accard from Partizan for making it happen

  3. Scanner invited us to perform our Scanner Piano at the Scanner curated Spitalfields Music Festival. If you like scanners or the word scanner, or Scanner, you might like this.

Annette Jezierska played an arrangement of John Dowland's Lachrimae. We think the scanner is a melancholy kind of peripheral.

Many thanks to Scanner, Kate Kelly and all at spitalfieldsmusic.org.uk for having us!

Many thanks to Jamie Durand for filming the video.

  4. An audio visual installation in association with Schwartz Flavour Shots, an innovative new
range of herb and spice blends locked in oil. What does flavour look like? How does it
sound? These are the questions that inspired herb and spice experts, Schwartz, to create
what they describe as a ‘Sonic Flavourscape'.

Several tons of black peppercorns, cardamom, turmeric, paprika, cumin seeds, ginger, chilli
and coriander were rigged to explode in perfect sync with a bespoke musical composition.
Each explosion represents an individual piano note or chord, which when filmed at high
speed, creates a surreal three dimensional sound scape.

The project bought together an eclectic collective of creative collaborators. DJ/Producer
MJ Cole was approached to translate the sensation of taste into a musical composition.
Film maker Chris Cairns and pyrotechnic designers, ‘Machine Shop’, then went to work
turning this sound into a physical scale.

  5. A behind the scenes look at how peppercorns, cardamom, turmeric, paprika, cumin seeds,
ginger, chilli and coriander became a physical music scale.

Musician, MJ Cole, Film maker, Chris Cairns and Pyrotechnic designer, Paul Mann talk
about their collaboration for Schwartz Flavour Shots and how the project was developed.
