This baby crow hopped its nest in order to learn to fly which is natural if you're a crow, they practice from the ground before fledging. So for the moment it lives in our back garden, which makes me feel weirdly privileged. The adults still feed it on the ground, and it's a hungry one.
I won't get to see him/her fledge as I'll be away, so did this little edit. I really love the scrappy little thing. Filmed on a Sony FX1E I was borrowing, everything straight from the camera.
This happens at breakfast every single day on Cousin Island, the Seychelles Fody's appetite is insatiable. They're still an endangered bird but they seem pretty happy around that house funnily enough. I stayed for 11 weeks shooting some promotional material for Nature Seychelles which is in the works. This is just something stupid and fun to bring in the new year!
This was a very memorable day just off the coast of Cousin Island (Seychelles). I was there to capture some images of the coral researchers when we came across several guitar sharks, which are now very rare, and a massive stingray. A very surreal and beautiful experience. The conditions weren't ideal (like a washing machine) but it was worth it to see these guys!
Watch until the end to see me get pretty up close and personal with that ray.
Filmed on a hacked Panasonic GF2 with kit lens and an underwater casing.
