“GIFT”, one word to sums it all: the ocean delivered incredible conditions that thrilled more than one happy.
Wave riders and freestylers benefited from great wind conditions and shared amazing moments on the water, in the air and on the shore.
Pure emotions in Mauritius, nothing to add.

This year I've been back in Brazil from September to November practicing very focused on sealing the world title, but found a couple of days to catch up with Andre Magarao and film this video before I went to the PKRA events in Pingtan and Hainan.

The "FreeRide' Project is an idea that we had at the start of 2011. Four riders, from different brands, we started traveling together and filming how we wanted our sport to look and be represented...this is a no-mess, un-brand motivated representation of what we want kiteboarding to be and what it means to us as we travel to some of the best spots and biggest wakestyle events through the year, to just have fun and ride!
Following the year of the UK riders Aaron Hadlow, Tom Court, Sam Light and James Boulding (the UKcrew) this video goes to Australia, DR, Hood River, Fuerteventura and the Philippines, with some kiteboarding action in each spot. As well as a section in the CWC cable park during the WONW kite/cable event at the end of 2011.
Sit back and enjoy, the video will be available for free download soon. The idea being that you can burn your own DVD/movie, share it at home or play it in your shops!! Spread the word!!
A big THANKS to all involved who made this possible and helped us along the way!
Edit: Ripslix (tom court) in collaboration with Steez (James Boudling)

Wakestyle now, is a term thrown around pretty loosely these days in kiteboarding, which is unusual because as recently as two years ago, it was a term that essentially only referred to about %1 of the kiteboarding population. However with the recent emergence of bindings on the world tour, you see more and more people throwing that word around. It seems now as if almost all the top pros fall into the same category, what follows can be considered the distinction… In Patrick Wieland's new short film “Distinction” produced by Mauicio Abreu, riders Alex Fox and Sam Light establish the standard and return the word “wakestyle” to its original roots.
