This is a sketch in OpenFrameworks that uses MIDI to make music between two people. One person can play notes with the keyboard, the other can bend those notes by drawing with the mouse. There is something about sharing the music generation process in this way that's interesting. The sketch has a loop of 8 "measures" where it records (very imperfectly) your input and plays it back so you can create layers every time you come back around to the same measure.
This is a test of my thesis for the MFADT program at Parsons, called Dumb Songs. It's a silly collaborative musical toy that lets you make music with someone by playing. The sound is still being perfected, but the enclosure and device are alive... THEY'RE ALIVE!!!
