By Gina Taylor / Description: This webinar will focus on the progression of riding skills. An instructor can help ensure the success of their riders of all abilities when they are skilled at setting up lessons that build on one another. Progression of the students skill level provides motivation for the rider and often moves them towards independence. Instructors working with riders with disabilities may face more challenges in teaching progression of riding skills due to the use of leaders and sidewalkers, in addition to the challenges the rider is facing.
You will learn a typical skills progression as well as ways to adapt the skills progression for riders with cognitive and physical differences. You will also learn hallmarks for reducing assistance from leaders and sidewalkers in progressing your students to independent and capable riders. Experienced instructors are artful in their teaching a progression of riding skills to riders of all abilities.
