I would like to thank John T Stapleton who wrote to me recently explaining "I have watched some of your videos on vimeo.com and noticed that you get distorted UV unwraps. I too had that problem and posted a message on Blender Artists asking how to fix it. I believe that it will fix your distorted UV unwraps as well. Here is the URL. blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?233647-Troubles-iwth-UV-unwrapping. He then sent a supplemental email with a very detailed workthrough on cleaning up a uv unwrap from one of my models. Good Job John and thanks for the tip! In this Blender 2.5 tutorial we introduce you to the new Cycles render engine that is being developed for Blender. This engine is still under heavy development but is set to be included with the official release later this year.
Cycles offers a much more realistic, interactive rendering workflow than the current Blender Internal engine and is a lot of fun to work with. You can download development versions that include Cycles from graphicall.org
