As a part of its ongoing commitment to water use efficiency, City of Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) has teamed up with Dallas hotels/motels and restaurants to encourage them to continue, and in some cases, expand their efforts to save water. The program is strictly voluntary and is not regulated by the City of Dallas.
Participating hotels and motels are encouraging guests to embrace fewer linen and towel changes and informing guests that water is served in dining rooms by request only. The City will also provide free public service announcements to participating lodging facilities to educate their guests about the program.
Dallas area restaurants are also being encouraged to serve water on request only. This simple measure not only saves our water resources but also provides energy savings through less frequent dishwasher and heated water use.
Free marketing and promotional materials are provided for participating establishments. See industry page links below under “Learn more about the Dallas Hospitality Industry Program.”
The initiative is supported by the Hotel Association of North Texas, the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association, Downtown Dallas, the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau, Tarrant Regional Water District and the North Texas Municipal Water District.
