Sudan Peace Concert on January 7th, was organized by a number of youth groups in the area of Greater Washington, in the USA; it is event to celebrate and mark the South Sudan's historical referendum on JAN the 9th, 2011 and to promote a message of solidarity and peace amongst all Sudanese.
January 11th Referendum is a momentous turning point for the people of South Sudan as well as Sudan as a whole.
The event brought together people from our diverse Sudanese communities in the area, along with musicians, artists and poets, in a message of peace and hope; it was an opportunity to take pride in our diverse cultures, ethnicities, religious and social backgrounds. Performers came from across Sudan and consisted of both established artists and Sudanese youth. Highlights included Sultan Clintone, Adrob, Mista-D, Al-Nair, Mohamad Araki, artwork from Khalid Kodi and much more.
The Sudan Peace Concert is a collaboration between Sudanese youth and community groups who have come together in the spirit of peace.
