The entire film was written, directed, filmed, edited, scored and mixed in 72 hours. The assigned elements were:

Line of dialog: "This is like deja vu all over again"
Character: Mary Shapiro, unemployed
We used two cameras, a 5D Mark II running Magic Lantern with a Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L and a stock 7D with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.4. Both cameras were in 1080p30 mode with a 1/60th shutter and typically f/1.2-f/2.0. All of the rack-focus moves were on the 5D using the excellent Cinevate Durus follow-focus, which didn't cooperate well with the 85mm's awful focus-by-wire system. The two cameras mixed together well after the extensive desaturation; the color balance between the two was widely off even with identical temperature settings.
Audio was recorded on the 5D with Magic Lantern, using a juicedLink CX231 preamp and a AT875R shotgun mic in a Rode blimp for on set audio…
A 12 hour film production by Spiral Arm as practice for the 2009 National Film Challenge. We followed the rules of the 48 Hour Film Project -- our randomly selected genre was "drama", and we had twelve hours to write, direct, film, edit, score, mix and color correct the film before uploading to vimeo.
We used two cameras, a 5D Mark II running Magic Lantern with a Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 and a stock 7D with a Canon EF 85mm f/1.8. Both cameras were in 1080p30 mode with a 1/80th shutter and f/4 aperture. All of the rack-focus moves were on the 5D using a Cinevate Durus follow-focus. All of the hand-held moves were with the 7D. They mixed together with only minimal color correction.
Audio was recorded on the 5D with Magic Lantern, using a juicedLink CX231 preamp and a AT875R in a Rode blimp. The in-camera gains were +0 dB analog, +6 dB digital. The 7D's audio was used as a guide track to align the clips.
Comparison of the 5D and 7D rolling shutter in 30p, 24p and 60p modes. Scan rate of the 30p and 24p modes appear to be the same as the 5D (25ms), while 60p appears to be faster (12.5ms?).
Demonstrating the new feature of the Magic Lantern firmware for the Canon 5D Mark II -- autoboot from a specially formatted compact flash card. Before it was necessary to select "Update firmware" from the menu to load the Magic Lantern software. Now it can be configured so that the card will automatically load Magic Lantern when the camera boots up.

Just think about it… What if you were trapped under something heavy and the mouse was out of your reach? Scary, right? That's exactly why we have these keyboard shortcuts so you can still use Vimeo until the help arrives.
