A couple seasons ago I swapped fly rod for camera and followed my friend, Rich Zellman as he cast for winter-run steelhead. Over countless days, eye traced rod's path, over and over again. And over again. This is what came of that effort.
This is as much about the insurmountable distance between the camera and the subject as it is about the indefinable draw of fly fishing. Made for my thesis for the MFA program in Science and Natural History Filmmaking at Montana State University.
