Twenty-six U.S. Army Soldiers from 13 commands earned an opportunity to compete in the 2011 Best Warrior Competition at Fort Lee, Va., Oct. 2-7, 2011, after winning local command level competitions. The Best Warrior Competition is an annual event that tests the top Soldiers knowledge, physical condition and tactical competence in a number of events such as the Army Physical Fitness Test, the Command Sergeants’ Major board, urban warfare courses and M-4 qualification ranges. In the end, one Soldier and one Non Commissioned Officer earned the title of Best Warrior of 2011 from the Sergeant Major of the Army Raymond Chandler III.
