1. If you have ever wanted to experience AR art live in action then… this is the next best thing!

Captured during one of Warren Armstrongs (Un)Seen Sculptures walking tours through Rozelle, as part of the RCAP ART Month celebrations in March last year.

This video, filmed by Daz Chandler, takes you on a journey with Warren Armstrong and his participants, to explore virtual works hidden from the naked eye; only visible to those with a smartphone and the Layar Reality Browser app.

And don't forget the 2013 RCAP Art month celebrations are only 1 more month away. Kicking off on March 21st, make sure you check out dlux.org.au for a full run down of the events lined up.

  2. Ever wondered what it was like to walk a year in the life of dLux mediaArts? Well now is your chance!

2012 has quickly become one of the organisations most rewarding years. Not only did we turn the BIG 3 0, we also joined forces with the newly formed Rozelle Contemporary Art Precinct and hit the Biennale of Sydney in “art after dark” style with virtual toads, Augmented forms and a great young sound collective the ‘Filthy Children’!

Plus the dLab sure got around! From touring the country with our International Visiting Artist Jules Rochielle, to working with ‘Save the Children’, ‘Hungry for Art’, and ‘Working from the ground up’ to list just a very few…

You can check out all the action for yourself in our 2012 show reel. Created by our very own incredibly talented Artist in Residence Rhys Votano.

  3. During the recent Desert Equinox Solar Art Exhibition in Broken Hill, two of our dLux MediaArts dLab facilitators made the journey to the silver city to work with local disengaged students from Broken Hill Youth College to create a digital tour of the Desert Equinox Sculpture Walk. The group took part in informal learning workshops where they were able to experiment with a range of digital technologies, then use these new skills to document the exhibition and its artists to use in the development of the mobile app. Through interviewing and interacting with artists in the exhibition, students learnt first hand how each solar powered sculpture was created, what inspired the artists and how they themselves could implement solar technology in their own environment. Here is one of the artist interviews that will be featured in the sculpture walk app.
