Shot in the fall of 2009, the Magic Kingdoms parade is captured here in 720p HD quality. This is the whole parade with show stop, shot from multiple angles. I`m particularly happy with the audio mix; source float audio mixed with induction of the parade route underliner beat to sound just like the park version. This is something the versions in circulation are missing.
Back in 2007, I decided to take my Sony FX1 out to EPCOT Center and record 4 camera angles of “IllumiNations, Reflections of Earth”. “ROE” has always been my favorite Disney show. When I first saw it in 1999 I was completely floored by the music and fireworks synching of the show. Over the years, I have seen the show countless times with various friends and family but oddly enough, no matter how many times I see it, I always seem to notice something different that escaped me previously. There is also something very enchanting about walking around EPCOT Center late at night after the guests have filed out the park. I have tried to capture that amazing feeling at the end of this video as well.
My original 2007 Illuminations video was the first HD, multi-angle and first 5.1 surround sound project that I had ever worked on. Back in the day, it was quite a feat for me to pull off. However, as the years went by, I grew increasingly unhappy with it. So, in 2012, I decided to remake the video with all new footage and mix down a new 5.1 surround track.
So here it is. “ROE REDUX”, shot from many different angles around the park and a big improvement over my original in quality. I’m still not completely happy with it and I’m sure I will remake it again someday (Actually, I plan on doing a “Final Tribute to ROE” 3 days before the show ends…possibly in 2015/16?)
I think of all the Disney shows, ROE is the technically THE hardest show to shoot. It’s extremely bright and dark and alternates back and forth rapidly. It has many simultaneous elements happening that can’t be seen without moving your eyes away from something else. You just can’t see “everything” all at once like other shows.
All of my edits are designed for a “Home Theater” experience and I hope you will download the free DVD or watch it on Blu-Ray. (The web version is 720p, the DVD is 480psf and the Blu-ray is 1080psf) The Blu Ray version also has several extra features that the DVD does not have and it’s also a much higher picture quality.
There are two different versions of my ROE REDUX. One edited as a “Natural View” and one with a synthetic “Floating Globe” over the show. After consulting with friends and family, some liked one better than the other. So, I included both on the DVD/Blu-ray so you can pick for yourself! (btw,…the “floating globe” is my personal favorite ;-)
p.s….send me your feedback on which version you like better. I love to read viewer feedback.

This is my new "REDUX" version of Fantasmic! in Hollywood Studios. This video shares much of the footage shot for the original one. However, allot of work has gone into "REDUX" and these are the brand new additions and changes the were made;
1.) Tremendous improvements in overall image quality, clarity and color balance.
2.) Two new camera angles added.
3.) Interlaced footage bugs are fixed in "REDUX". All scenes are now progressive 29.97p/PSF (the old version was a terrible mix of interlaced and progressive material)
4.) DVD & Blu-ray have a new remixed Dolby 5.1 surround channel audio. (taken from original Dolby Pro Logic master tracks with new digital center channel)
Note: My old version of WDW's "Fantasmic!" has been retired and removed from the web in favor of this new version. (the YouTube hit counter starts again at "0" :)

This was my first experience with video editing. Disney Marketing has used the video on several of its TV commercials, and several of the clips are used in their nightly fireworks show at Magic Kingdom. The video was also featured on several websites and news stations.
