I left this near full length for you, so you could pretend you were there ... and not in a grain silo pulling on plastic in the middle of a corn field.... Got rid of most of the head banging and some fumbling. Sorry about the bobble head noise. I had the camera mounted on a loose strap on the helmet. Sadly, this is a large portion of the climbing I got to do while in Colorado.
This is in the San Juan Mountains just off of Camp Bird Mine Road outside of Ouray, Colorado in the area referred to as Skyline. The road is gated, but plowed (?) in the winter, so a short two mile walk is involved to reach the multiple falls along the roadside. These are full pitch routes with some interesting variety. Almost enough to fill a full day of climbing in a one quarter mile stretch. Down the hill and across the river from these routes is the infamous Bird Brain Boulevard WI5 M6, and next to it is The Ribbon WI 4+. (Not seen in this video. Look 'em up..... fodder for the future potential.)
Wim, Derek, Jed, David, Keith, and I climbed the Upper Dexter just outside of Ouray in early February, 2012. The footage is from my GoPro Hero, and thus the perspective is mine (Steve's). This was my first multi-pitch water fall ice lead experience. It was super fun.
